Way back in 2013 I began using FAPS for my business. There were many problems, but after 2 months of not being able to process card payments I sent a letter (per them) to discontinue our agreement. They tried to charge me some weird ETF and POS machine lease fees etc. totaling over $600. I finally had to get my legal counsel involved. She was able to negotiate the amount to a little over $339 which I paid to their collection company- (CSG) to get them off my back. I recently applied for a loan and was shocked at how low my FICO score was. After investigating, it is because First American has continued to report my account as an unpaid collection since 2019. I am not able to locate a banking record as so much time has elapsed, and I destroy my records after 3 years. I made one last ditch effort to contact the collection agency regarding this but doubt I’ll see any sort of resolution other than to wait out the 7 years until it falls off my credit report. My understanding is that these point of sale companies are repeatedly overcharging, creating fictitious fees and misleading rental documents in an effort to defraud small businesses. I’m pretty well disgusted by this. Thank you.
I just found out I have a collection on my personal credit report. Now digging through to find out whatever this company is. Realizing it was a merchant account from my business which had its own ein. And for which I never received any notice of delinquency or a bill due. According to my records I paid in full and now this collection notice is sitting on my report since 2019? For what? I’ve called the numbers listed online and get hung up on. Very shady company thru and through and shame on 5/3rd bank for even supporting this racket.
These people are nothing but scammers that tried to scam my company and when I realized what was going on I already gave them .my information and they said they will charge me for backing out $799 and when I refused to pay because they never provided me any services they reported me to collection agency
They are bunch of criminals and no one should use or fall for them
fees seem to creep up and lately they’ve been changing my limits without telling me and withholding deposits.
This is all VERY TRUE! Was a customer of ten years and they still charged “early termination fee” as well as various other “fees” for PCI etc.
STAY AWAY and if you are using them QUIT !! Immediately.
THIS COMPANY TOTALLY SCREWED ME OUT OF A COUPLE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS OVER THE COURSE OF 5 YEARS. NEVER PUT FAITH IN THEM JUST BECAUSE YOU TRANSACTION GOING THREW ON THE MACHINE AND IT SHOWS PENDING ON YOUR BANK ACCOUNT DOESN’T MEAN ANYTHING THAT CAN RELEASE IT AND YOU NEVER WILL KNOW YOU NOT GETTING PAID FOR THE TRANSACTIONS THAT YOU ARE PROCESSING.
