Founded in 2000 and headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, the company was acquired by Verifone in 2020, broadening its reach into omnichannel commerce. The platform provides modular services such as 2Sell for global transactions in physical and digital goods, 2Subscribe for managing recurring billing and retention, and 2Monetize for handling digital product sales with features for tax compliance and conversion optimization. 2Checkout supports multiple checkout formats and integrates with more than 120 shopping cart systems, including Shopify, Magento, and WooCommerce. It offers two payment models: the Merchant of Record model, where 2Checkout handles compliance and tax obligations, and the Payment Service Provider model, where merchants assume financial responsibility. I bought a product in March 2023 using credit card with a company. This company use 2checkout to process payment.
I asked for a refund and the company accepted.
On 28 March 2checkout debited the account of this company.
I never received the refund on my credit card.
I contacted their support , supportplus, refund department , complaint department.
I never received explanation only an email by robot telling me that my request is sent to refund department.
I left a trustpilot feedback and still no any answers.
It is now 14 days
2Checkout has held my funds for more than a month, total is almost $24,000. I was not sent an email and when I logged in no explanation was available. After emailing I was told it was because the account info was wrong. When I corrected the info, they replied saying it was the same as before, therefore I needed to upload a statement with SWIFT code and other info that my bank doesn’t put on statements. They are not reading my emails properly and not replying promptly. There is nobody to talk to and no complaints mechanism.
2co has been unresponsive to my issue of assigning my payment to a phone I no longer use and making the subscription on my new phone, that had a subscription, expired. I sent them 3 emails, and attempted to contact the original vendor, one Plus, with no response.
The vendor I purchased my phone from (bitdefender) did not say I needed to go through 2co when I had issues with payment applications. Neither bitdefender, not 2co is responding to my issue. Even if bitdefender is highly rated, I am considering cancelling my subscription because of this lack of customer support.
Hopeless service
2Checkout is not a reputable company. They have absconded with my company’s $800 deposit and will not refund it after we cancelled the service. I do not recommend that business.
