A client of our business wanted to cancel the services that she had signed up for and wanted her deposit back. She had been informed that deposits are non-refundable. She was unhappy with this and initiated a chargeback. We were informed by Merchant Services, the back end of US Pay by regular mail and the letter literally arrived two days prior to the due date to make a response. Despite the fact that the company had an email address, phone and fax numbers for our business, this was the only method they used to notify us of an impending chargeback. We were able react just in the nick of time and prevent the chargeback from going thru. Shortly thereafter, we terminated our contract with them and received from them an acknowledgement of the termination of the business contract and they came and collected their processing equipment.
Four months later, we received another letter regarding the same chargeback but on this occasion, it arrived three days after the due date to respond. US Pay re-opened our account and withdrew the money from our bank account and have continued to make debits to our account.
We have made several attempts to resolve this with the company, but the people we have spoken to were less than forthcoming. On one phone call, a representative from Merchant Services said that they were a separate entity from US Pay and they were not given any contact information other than our business address.
When I called them again today, 2/4/25, the representative said that Merchant Services was the back end of the same company as USPay. She confirmed that the company had our email address, phone and fax numbers and the Merchant Services has access to this information as well.
We have received emails before from this company that has enabled us to respond to chargebacks, but they did not do this regarding this matter either time.
The initial chargeback was $1000. At this point, after USPay reopened the account that we had with them, they have made a total of $1202.51 in withdrawals from our bank account over our objections.
Our office signed up with US PAY in December 2023 after three months of emails between sales team, including a power point presentation showing how much we would save over Square. It was a BIG mistake to switch. US PAY charges exorbitant fees, which are hidden, and the link noted on the contract that explains the fine print, does not work. (this issue was to be escalated, which we received no response to). They will tell you they are going to escalate issues, but you will never receive an acceptable resolution. They do whatever they can to keep your money and charge fees. They are the worst processing company, EVER. DO NOT USE THEM!!
