Bluefin Payment Systems offers a secure payment gateway called PayConex, and a merchant account provider headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.
Costs & contract: Does not appear to offer a three-year contract with a variable early termination fee, and has not received any merchant complaints about its sales and marketing.
There is only limited information publicly available regarding Bluefin’s contract terms, but given the company’s 2016 settlement, it’s reasonable to assume the company is more aggressive with potentially fraudulent payments.

Bluefin does not appear to have any publicly listed complaints about its contract terms, but the old Capital Payments complaint may have negatively impacted its score.

Bluefin’s website is easy to navigate and more informative than the average industry website. It offers a free reporting tool and does not appear to use independent sales agents.
Bluefin’s 2016 FTC settlement does not negatively impact the experience that other Bluefin customers may have. Still, merchants should compare Bluefin to our list of best merchant services providers.
