ATB Financial Company Overview
ATB Financial is a provincial Crown corporation in Alberta, Canada, founded in 1938 and based in Edmonton. Operating as Alberta’s largest financial institution, it serves personal, business, agriculture, and corporate clients with services including chequing and savings accounts, mortgages, consumer and commercial loans, credit cards, and investment solutions such as mutual funds, GICs, and private portfolios. It also offers insurance, online and mobile banking, ATM access, and support from entrepreneur and client care centres. Through its ATB Wealth and Capital Markets divisions, the organization provides advisory services, asset management, private banking, and investment banking capabilities such as mergers, capital raising, and equity markets access. As of early 2025, ATB reportedly manages over C$60 billion in assets, employs more than 5,000 staff, and serves over 800,000 clients across nearly 175 branches, 140 agencies, and more than 240 ATMs in Alberta. ATB is government-owned and operates under provincial oversight, with deposits fully guaranteed by Alberta’s government.
