Just fyi, Mainstream has been gone for almost 3 years now. Global Payments bought them out and even though the statements still show “Mainstream,” it’s been Global since the end of 2022. The price increases have been INSANE even since but again, it’s not Mainstream doing it, it’s 100% Global.
We have been with Mainsteam since 2017, had the best rates for many years well below 1.5%
We heard they were bought out last year and now our rates have steadily increase to where they are now over 3.5%. More than double in less than a year. Mainstream does not have a website any longer and we have not been able to reach them by phone. We are changing processors but am concerned about them number of people that have had trouble stopping the charges. We do not recommend doing business with Mainstream
After using Mainstream Merchant Services for about 5 years they got taken over by a larger company. Shortly after my rates doubles with no notice or warning by them. It took me 2 months to realize. Contacted them to question this and they said there was nothing they could do. Fair enough so I cancelled my services, paid them a 350.00 cancellation fee in April 2024, and have a paper statement that shows the listed fee as account closure fee. Now after 6 months they took charges by ach out of my account. 10 phone calls and who knows how many hours they now say my account was never closed but they will see what they can do. Im not sure if everyone I talked too was incompetent or acting fraudulently but they still have not closed my account and will not provide me with a refund. The service reps are all nice and do nothing. The cases numbers they provide me, along with the deactivation numbers, the confirm closed numbers can never be found again by the next rep a talk too. Further the reps cant understand why I am upset, makes no sense to them after I paid them 350.00 to close my account 6 months ago that is not closed, and their still charging money, go figure. Dont trust them as nice as they all seem they never come through to fix issues. I recommend contacting every agency this sight recommends as that is what I will be doing. Also blocking your account from them may make it difficult to get your money but it will stop them from taking money, just something to think about.
Our company has been doing business with Mainstream since 2017. At the end of April, a charge back for $4000 was attempted by Mainstream without notification but was blocked by our security we have on our accounts. Mainstream has locked our account without notification and is holding over $100,000.00 of our money. I have not been able to get this resolved or get the President of Mainstream to speak with me over the phone. Today is May 18 2022 and every Credit Card Transaction is still being held by Mainstream.
I utilized Mainstream services since 2015. I retired in 2020, and was charged $39.10 for 13 months (payments automatically taken from my account). When I discovered the charges, I cancelled my account. Discovering at new charge of $250 for an early cancelation fee! I was told that my contract automatically renewed for a 2 year Period after the first 3 years! This sounds like an illegal EVERGREEN clause! I would never do business with with this company again.
