I have been fighting with Nuvei since 01/27/25 about a fraudulent chargeback. A client filed a chargeback that I tried to work with her, and to no avail I agreed to refund partial payment, as directed from Nuvei. Then 2 days later they pulled out the money anyway. When I requested an explanation and to have my money returned they have declined. Since then I have filled numerous complaints, and provided all documentation about the issues. Then as of yesterday, was told the time frame to appeal was passed and my request may not be processed. Yet, still the money has not been returned and not resolution.
DO NOT TOUCH THEM!!!
I been with them since 2001! I was PCI certified EVERY year.
Few years back they been purchased by NUVEI and since than, no statements anymore.
2 month ago I downloaded statement and found they charges me EVERY month not 35.00 as they say but 45.00 for NONE PCI! I requested a refund and been told first NO. Than fighting for weeks they “agreed” to pay only 18 month back! Meaning they admitted of stealing but don’t want to refund all money!! I was also a reseller for them and 3 of the clients I sent them had SAME EXEC story! Of course I closed my account and than they charged me 50.00 EARLY termination – after 24 years!! Company of crooks with VERY BAD support if you can even get any. STAY AWAY!
This company shut down my account without giving me any notice. They are holding my money for an indefinite period of time. They are rude and offer poor customer service. Would advise not to use this company as they are untrustworthy.
These guys are criminals. I would not suggest using them.
Over the course of using them for 6 years, they were taking money from us without our authorization, charging a monthly fee for a statement, which was conveniently never shown to us. They may advertise low monthly processing fees of 2.4% but they’ll charge you an extra $80/month in fees that make absolutely zero sense. Just more funds to make the quota for their stock price…
Even after cancelling, they continued to take fees from our bank account!
As a small business, I would not suggest to any small business in Canada to use them. There are lots of alternatives out there of more honest companies.
Review: Overcharging and Lack of Transparency with Nuvei
Our experience with Nuvei has been far from satisfactory, primarily due to their lack of transparency and excessive fees. One of the most egregious issues we’ve encountered is their ongoing $40/month PCI compliance fee that was charged to us for years without any proper notification or communication about the existence of this monthly fee.
1. Lack of Transparency:
Nuvei’s failure to properly disclose their fees is highly concerning. For years, we were unknowingly charged for PCI compliance at $40 per month, adding up to significant costs over time. At no point did Nuvei inform us upfront that this charge would be recurring, nor did they provide adequate explanations on their billing statements regarding the purpose or necessity of this fee.
2. Unhelpful Customer Support:
When we finally discovered this hidden charge and reached out to Nuvei for clarification, the response was frustratingly dismissive. The customer support seemed more interested in rushing through the call than answering our questions. We had to push hard to get answers about the PCI compliance fee and were left feeling that their primary goal was to get us off the phone rather than help us resolve the issue. Support staff provided minimal guidance and seemed reluctant to offer any assistance that would help us complete the necessary PCI questionnaire, which is a mandatory part of maintaining compliance.
3. Unfair Business Practices:
Nuvei’s practice of charging a hefty monthly fee for PCI compliance without clear, upfront communication feels like an attempt to capitalize on merchants without offering sufficient value in return. Furthermore, their unwillingness to properly assist with PCI compliance processes reflects poorly on their customer service approach. These fees were allowed to accumulate for years without us being given the opportunity to reconsider our relationship with Nuvei, as the charges were effectively hidden in the fine print.
Conclusion:
Overall, our experience with Nuvei has been riddled with hidden fees and poor customer service. The lack of transparency regarding their charges, particularly the PCI compliance fee, has resulted in unnecessary costs, and their dismissive customer support has made it difficult to resolve issues effectively. We would strongly advise businesses to reconsider using Nuvei as a payment processor if they value transparency and supportive customer service.
Nuvvei took over the Capital Processing Network. CPN was known to hire felons known for ID theft and forgery. They changed my Merchant ID number several times, without my knowledge, and continued to charge me monthly fees on each Merchant ID number, this on top of their exorbitant monthly fees for the active Merchant ID number.
I would not recommend anyone ever do business with this company.
They stole my crypto deposit. I entered a wallet # in the site and had $1500 deposited to it. For some reason it was redirected to another wallet. I know that I entered the right wallet because I copied and pasted it. It was sent to an unknown wallet. Their site was hijacked or something. The bitchain wallet provider that I used states that it was something that happened on the Simplex side
Quietly steels your money. High terminal fee.charges processing fee each batch.stay away from them.
I agree with most this company is horrible ! As a new buiss we waited for the terminal then when we did get it it worked for 2 weeks and now the payment machine wont accept payments. Been a week already with no payments being able to be accepted. I just got a email today that there sending me a new machine out? What a joke brutal customer service the Clover machine will be here before there shows up! Dont not deal with this company i have already lost buiss because of them
Deal with company has been the biggest mistake I have ever made in all the time I have been in business. I personally have spent over 100 hours getting set up. Making sure everything was complied. And yet when talking to the other company I found out it was not my mistake. But I got over charged and when I stopped payment. It was sent to collections when nuvei owes my company a refund. I know now that at my new office that is opening that nuvei can not handle it.
Nuvei is CORRUPT and VERY MISLEADING. We signed up for ACH ONLY transactions and were hammered with exorbitant fees related to PCI compliance, plus other fees. PCI compliance is NOT APPLICABLE SINCE WE ONLY PROCESS ACH payments. They made it extremely difficult to cancel and are STILL CHAERGING US FEES A MONTH LATER.
We were 100% mislead in the sales process. All the contracts we signed DO NOT DISCLOSE THE FEES THEY CHARGED. They are AWFUL and DO NOT CARE whatsoever that they are a bait & switch operation.
AVOID!
Nuvei processed our ACH payments and sent us and acknowledgement that this customer paid; however, we never received the funds – 12 separate incidents over 10 months time – $14,685.00. When we called them out on it, they acknowledged the error but it still took 4 weeks to rrecover our money.
After my bank sent an NOC in early 2022, Nuvei still had not updated the information in February of 2023. When I tried to update that information with them,(numberous emails and phone calls) they have drug their feet for over 3 weeks…and still no calls, no correction. They have changed fees from the original contract and are trying to hold us to a contract that they themselves have violated. And they still won’t update the banking information. Bank files indicate that they were notified OVER A YEAR AGO!!!!
I totally agree with you. This company is absolutely corrupt. They’ve been charging my company wireless fee over 10 years even we had wired. They said they changed from Pivotal to Nuvei, so thry didn’t know. Also, they increased card charge little by little without letting us know. Now, they said I only needed to do PCI compliance once a year. Buy they charged over $40.00 a month for PCI incomplete. I claimed for refund because this is once a year thing. They said they changed to every three month. I did PCI compliance 4 month ago, they started charging again without communicating. Actually, I phoned them and ask about PCI one month ago and they said it’s good till August,2022. I want to know if I can sue them. If any company use Nuvei, please check your statement diligently. They basically steal your company’s money. Very corrupt company
They are absolutely not customer freindly and have played a part in the destruction of my company. We are in a pandemic and instead of working with me they screwed me over. I will be boycotting every company these theives own and I will do everything I can to help with thier destruction just like they did me.
The Nuvie company has three partners or departments interga pay, digitech and Nuvie. Integra payments was very unprofessional and dishonest specially the sales people. When you sign up it is one company Nuvei you think you are dealing with then you found out it is three different departments digitech, integrapayments and Nuvie and three calls centers. Their agent promised to cancel my previous provider before they signed me up and I did tell them about my contract on my machines; and they said they will take care of everything and they how to deal with my previous provider to cancel. They sent me a cancellation form as well which I signed and sent back to them. Now. after 7months I found out they did not only cancel, but never made a single effort on that part. One department agent emailed me stating they will cover the cost of penalties and the other department is saying no penalty does not mean the cost of my lease buy out. If they did take care of my account cancellation properly in the first place we never ended up having two merchant account open. Now, they tell me I can go take legal action. They also promised me great service, but the machines, heat up, freeze and does not charge. They have replaced them 3 times now and it is still the same issue. Please do not buy into what they sell like Yassine, Jashua their sales and technical team at Integra Payments is not responsible people.
WHATEVER YOU DO, STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS. THE WHOLE INDUSTRY IS AS SHADY AS IT GETS BUT THESE GUYS ARE ESPECIALLY BAD. MY BUSINESS GOT HAMMERED BY SOMETHING CALL “PCI NON-COMPLIANCE FEES”.
AKA PIVOTAL PAYMENTS. Outrageous fees most of which are much higher than competitors. Look around and compare. I paid the early termination fee and changed my buisness bank account # just to cut all ties
Nuvei is horrible! They lie, my bank hates we use them for that purpose. Their software has multiple issues that will cost you customers and money. They dont even tell you when the machine needs a software update. And the techs that do the updates dont work on weekends leaving you do without! Stay the hell away from this scam company!
Please fill out a complaint with the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION. I did and they stated if enough people complain, they will pursue the complaints. We need to work together to prosecute this company.
Exact same thing happened to me but I am almost sure the company did not have me sign a contract specifying the 60-day notice. I gave 30 days’ notice to a nice gentleman named Chris but now the company won’t let me talk to him. How can they legally double dip regarding the PCI compliance fees when these fees were not agreed upon signing up. Legally I would feel this should be regulated and needs all of us to file the appropriate complaints per below Brian’s recommendations. I am a business owner for over 30 years and I can not believe companies can get away with this shady type of business.
In Regards to this Company Nevei They are CROOKS ! I have just audited my books . And found over … $2000 in extra fees that they have slipped under my nose. Coaching Fees , PCI non-compliance , Security Fees it goes on. If anyone knows what can be done about this , please advise so this does not keep happening to us small businesses .
