MerchantPlus offers card readers, POS systems, mobile solutions, e-commerce solutions, ACH processing, a variety of payment gateways and business management apps.

MerchantPlus, LLC’s website lists its headquarters at 30 Vesey St., 9th Floor, New York, New York.

Costs and contract: Offers 2 plans without contracts and interchange-plus pricing through its proprietary payment gateway, and has received fewer than 10 public complaints.

MerchantPlus advertises interchange-plus pricing for its virtual terminal service called the NaviGate Gateway, with plans starting at $30 per month or $299 per month. The company offers a RateAssure program to reduce merchants’ markups.

The terms of the MerchantPlus merchant account were rated to be above industry average, and we did not consider them to be competitive with the cheapest merchant accounts.

We are currently able to locate fewer than 10 complaints against MerchantPlus. Complainants complain about rates and fees, customer service and withholding of funds.

It seems that a great deal of these complaints are directed at iPayment rather than MerchantPlus, and that ISOs are responsible for the services they resell.

MerchantPlus scored an “A-” rating with 2 complaints in the past 36 months, and neither complaint was resolved.

MerchantPlus appears to use affiliates and a website to market its services, but it is unclear whether it employs independent sales agents.

MerchantPlus sales agents were helpful and forthright when setting up the accounts, but then changed the quality of service and rates once handed over to iPayment.

MerchantPlus is an average merchant services provider, but it could improve once it corrects the complaints on its BBB profile.
