In 2021, Nuvei acquired Mazooma, Simplex, Flow, FTX and partnered with Flow to provide NFT purchasing and stablecoin processing.

Nuvie processes credit card and debit card payments in 150+ currencies, and provide POS terminals, e-commerce solutions, mobile payments, data reporting and analytics, as well as industry-specific expertise.

Nuvei’s pricing may vary greatly depending on several factors, including a merchant’s processing volume, business type, and agent setting up the account. Additionally, the company’s sales agents may lease equipment from First Data Global Leasing.

Nuvei provides storefront payment processing, as well as e-commerce payment processing services. However, pricing is not disclosed on these services.

Nuvei has changed its early termination fee to a flat $395 fee for merchants processing up to $25,000 per month.

Nuvei’s contract with merchants has a PCI compliance fee of $139.80, and other fees of up to $35 per chargeback and $25 per month.

Nuvei offers equipment leases that can cost thousands or tens of thousands of dollars, which are not competitive with the cheapest merchant accounts available.

Nuvei has a high number of negative reviews on the internet, with numerous complaints about poor customer service, processing errors, terminal problems, difficulty cancelling service, unexpected costs, and high cancellation fees.

Nuvei, the new name for Pivotal Payments, appears to have paid Ripoff Report to join their corporate advocacy program, removing negative reviews and replacing them with promotional blurbs.

In October 2018, a judge granted final approval to a class action settlement in which Pivotal Payments paid $9 million to consumers that had complained about telemarketing calls from Pivotal Payments.

Breeders’ Cup filed a lawsuit against Pivotal Payments in 2019 for breaching their sponsorship agreement. In late 2021, investors in Nuvei should consider class action suits due to their alleged misleading investors.

Nuvei offers 24/7 technical support by phone and customer service from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday.

The Better Business Bureau awarded Nuvei an “A+” rating and accredited them since 2021. Only 11 of the 36 complaints were resolved to the satisfaction of the merchant.

Nuvei does not appear to use any deceptive advertising or rate quoting, but its marketing strategy has damaged the company’s reputation and the company’s internal policies are not doing a good job of regulating its resellers’ marketing practices.

In an email to us, a representative of Nuvei stated that sales channels must meet internal standards, and that the company has reduced merchant complaints, which has improved its rating in this section.

Nuvei rates as an average merchant services provider according to our rating system, and has the same service and pricing that Pivotal Payments was known for.
