First Choice Payments Overview
First Choice Payments is a merchant account provider that appears to be a DBA of Wholesale Merchant Processing and its related businesses. Numerous sources suggest that Smart Choice Payments, Wholesale Merchant Processing, and North American Processing Solutions are all DBAs of First Choice Payments, although the exact corporate structure linking them is unclear.
The Smart Choice Payments website describes that company as “First Choice Payments, LLC doing business as Smart Choice Payments.” First Choice Payments is also registered in the state of Oregon at the same address as Wholesale Merchant Processing and Smart Choice Payments, although the First Choice Payments website provides an address in Nevada. This address is the site of a UPS Store, which might mean that the First Choice Payments website is simply listing a mail forwarding address on its website.
First Choice Payments’s products and services include credit card terminals, PIN pads, mobile processing solutions, online payment gateways, point-of-sale systems, gift and loyalty programs, and merchant cash advance. The company provides phone and email contact information on its website, but it’s not clear if these lines are reserved for customer support. Todd McCartney is the authorized representative of First Choice Payments.

Online reputation and reviews
First Choice Payments has received only a few public complaints from merchants, which draws a stark contrast with its affiliated companies. The available complaints mention unauthorized charges, agent misrepresentation, long-term equipment leases, and poor customer service. First Choice does not appear to operate in a distinctly different manner than Wholesale Merchant Processing, Smart Choice Payments, and North American Processing Solutions, so it’s unclear why it has received fewer complaints. It’s possible that it is a less active DBA within the group; after all, there is no Better Business Bureau page for the company and it does not appear to maintain a separate physical location. In any case, there is no obvious reason to evaluate First Choice Payments independently of its partner businesses.

Absolutely terrible. I transferred three separate amounts, dating back almost a month now. I was then told 10 days ago that my money will be returned to they’re system and reprocessed too my account and informed it may take a COUPLE of days. STILL NOTHING! My money hasn’t been returned to them, never mind re processed. I have continuously emailed them and given the exact response each time asking for my patience.. which waiting a month for a five day max transaction is very patient in my eyes. I have had no updates, poor communication and NONE of my money. They have around $340 of my money. I then logged into my account a week ago to realise all my payment and transaction history had been wiped to make it as if there is no sign of my money, which I am lucky I printed this out. Do NOT use this company. I will update if my money is returned
