DentalXChange Data Breach (2023–2024)
In August 2023, DentalXChange identified unauthorized activity in a user account associated with a dental practice that used its platform. Investigation determined that an outside party had accessed information including patient names, insurance details, subscriber identifiers, and lists of dental procedures performed. DentalXChange filed a formal notice of data breach with the Montana Attorney General on January 2, 2024 and began notifying patients of dentists across the country. Plaintiffs’ firms including Console & Associates, P.C. publicly announced investigations into potential class-action litigation arising from the breach.
