Complete scam artist! Once they get your account and bank info set up you will never hear from them again. Im dealing with this right now. Just make 100% sure that clover with integrate with your software system before signing up with them. Otherwise youll be stuck with useless equipment

After 3 years with Clover we are suddenly unable to process gift cards. Our rep is MIA, and there is no backup. Help desk doesn’t know what the problem is, elevated to “tier three” over a week ago. Every time I call for an update I get “they are working on it”. In the meantime, this is adversely affecting our business. We are unable to redeem gift cards that had been sold previously making us look like disreputable! Need help desperately.

Horrible company to deal with. No one you deal with on the phone has any authority to help you. Transfer you all over the place. Say the have to email the risk department to get any answers. Nobody calls you back. Sold us on 2.85% + .10 per transaction. Total lie. Charged us 15% of charges plus 2.85%% and .10 per transaction. Stating our company was high risk and had to put the 15% in a reserve. Will not release the funds even after I canceled the service. Said they would review in 60 days. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR CLOVER!!!

They put a hold on my account and said it would be 1 to 2 days after I gave them 3 months of my bank statements and the situation would be resolved. Thousands of dollars. I’m not even able to give myself a paycheck today. It’s been a week. No one will communicate with me and the money remains on hold. For us small businesses, this could be the nail in the coffin.

I do not operate the Clover register and I think it is probably ok, I do the business end of things. What I have issue with is Clover merchant services. Can’t get to who I need to talk to, I get transferred and put on hold a bunch of times. What a time waster! Just trying to change the billing address on the account and I can’t do it myself. Online it says to call but you are on hold forever and no one answers or you get transferred a bunch and never get who you need… I give it a negative zero on customer support for merchant services anyway.

I spent 3+ hours on the phone with Clover today to get ABSOLUTELY no where. They are doubly charging me for my current POS and an old one that was sent back and was supposed to be cancelled 16 months ago. They are financially breaking my small business and I feel stuck.

Great machine, Customer service… not so much.

Though I very much like how the actual Clover equipment operates, Clover customer service and their merchant services leaves very little to be desired. I am a small business owner and have been in business over 28 years. My current equipment with Clover (3 yrs. later), is now obsolete, and in order to operate efficiently I need new equipment. Clover told me they would sell me new equipment for 3874.00, which is preposterous! Upon Scoffing, he lowered it twice. First to 2874.00, and then again to 2174.00.

I became curious, and began searching for other merchants. I found one that would give me the latest equipment, with a 1400 rebate that I would receive within 30 days.The machine would cost 900.00 total. Both the merchant and the machine were through 1 service and not a 3rd party.

I called Clover merchant services to cancel my current obsolete agreement, and was told I had a 4 year lease, and was now offered FREE equipment. Hmmm. imagine that. This company is supposed to help small business. I am furious that they are trying to loop me back in and telling me I owe on a lease for another year when the “ACTUAL” equipment I was leasing is now obsolete. Not to mention, upon getting the free equipment, would I still need to pay for the old equipment? They also told me I would owe for early cancellation. This is no way to treat a small business. Over the past 3 years, I could have paid for 5 machines. I hope Clover rectifies this.

Clover is holding my money saying they suspect of fraud. I closed my account and called them to send proof that everything is legal and there’s no help. I lost my merchandise and they refuse to refund the customer money or give it back to me.

I am extremely unhappy with this service. At first it seemed wonderful and convenient as a home based business, the small handheld device was great for markets, etc. I saw money from my first market sales and then that was it. After the first month’s autopay had an issue, the sales rep stated due to the error with my bank they would refund the charges of over $100 for the missed payment of $16. That never happened. I refused to pay any further charges until this error was fixed and they simply continued to charge more and more fees. I had not heard anything for over 2-3 months so decided to try it again and again, they took all my sales. I have gotten no resolution from anyone, including the sales rep, and decided this is simply not going to work. I caution anyone considering them to read all the fine print and the unbelievably high fees for missing even 1 payment. If you want to keep your sales, find another way to collect card payments. Now I understand why so many vendors use VENMO.

Horrible customer service

Super easy to setup but God help you if there are any issues (like extra income/payments at any point). They will hold payments for weeks to “research it”. Nobody to talk to, no supervisors, managers etc.

One of the bottom of the barrel customer service departments. Camilla seems to be there one and only (and obnoxious) customer service agents.

My mom owns a small business called one little world that supports fair trade in different countries around the world. She canceled Clover in 2023 and the Representative on the phone said that she will NEVER pay a fee to Clover again, but now, in 2025 today she had to call them and cancel again because they said it was never canceled. So she had pay for over one year for something that she already canceled!! She was on the phone for over an hour! Clover is a sneaky company and i would not recommend them to anyone unless you want to get your money stolen!

I open a business back to 2023 but was waiting for the city permit, clover sent me to collection they said I owe $1100 after paying the service even I wasn’t using it. In December 14 I open my business officially and still using their payment processing to get credit card until today I haven’t receive any payment from them. Right now Im whiting this message I’m fighting with them to get my money. Please to sign up to those people. Because if that I lost a lot of clientele, I can’t take credit card payment all my bills are due and they keep my money. They are very bad company please help me get my money it’s more than $7,000 they are stealing from me.

The device works great, but the company has extremely deceptive practices that continues charging you WAY outside of your use of the product. Such as, using their “Free” plan to do only a handful of sales, after buying their device in full, and receiving a $99 “DATA STORAGE FEE” at the end of the year. There is NO way to stop this fee. I expect it to be part of my life now forever. Others are facing similar fees for not upgrading their plans. Stay away from Clover.

NEGATIVE FEEDBACK

Clover did an upgrade back in March 2024, and since then their gift card app would not work correctly. They took away the swipe, and had a manual button instead. Also the retuns portion of the gift card would not work properly after the upgrade. If a customer bought 3 items, and did a split payment with credit card and clover gift card we could not refund just one item, it would go right to refund paymnet?! We called so many times to customer support and they would tell us they were escalating us to tier 2, or they would close our tickets without a resolve. Lately they tell you thats just the way it is, and if we say no that’s not the way it used to be, they hang up on you. We are using another app for gift cards, but wish they would just correct the problem.

An un-announced update occurred and is pointless.

To update your inventory count you now have to add the count and save it, then go to availability – turn it off and then turn it back on and finally hit the save button to actually save it.

This makes no sense and are extra steps that are not needed. PLEASE chang it back!

The required two-factor identification makes the system a REAL HASSLE for a business where multiple people have to access the system. It’s enough of a hassle that we’re looking for an alternative system.

Jeffery Baker is the worst customer service person I’ve ever encountered. I called August 30th, the beginning of labor day weekend because we were having issues. Tech Support said it was HIS wheelhouse. We were paying for our own agent when we needed one.

NOTHING! I lost several hundred in business because I didn’t have a credit card machine working. I called Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and NOTHING. We called another agency and got our machine sent overnight FREE and an agent 24/7. When trying to cancel the account we went through FOUR different people to close it. THEN they said we have to pay to return after we lost HUNDREDS of dollars to their ineptitude and incompetence.

Stole my money for a card reader, for an account I can’t use. Then refused a refund with multiple excuses and 15 different phone numbers. To call and none of them correct. Even gave me a number for vacations to cancel my account. They even connected me to another card company not even related to them. If you signed up or use this service please watch your accounts closely. They will take your money and refuse to pay it back with 100s of excuses.

We have been in limbo with clover for 4 weeks now, they have cost us our time and money due to lack of their payment system being shipped before a big event that needed a card reader. We were told it would take 1-2 business days for device to be shipped, they have our important business information, tax info and bank account. We are ready to file a complaint for lost time and lost business services. They are playing games with our personal information, not responding we are being told our application is undecided for 4 weeks now when they have all of the proper documentation to provide us services. This company is a scam I’ve learned and they are stealing private information from a majority of other businesses. We want our info documents to be protected. If needed we will be a part of filing a lawsuit along with other companies.

I Rented the device. Was getting charged monthly, and according to their version, my bank didn’t process rental payments from December on, but were indeed able to collect the merchant services fees. So they sent me to collections, without notifying me at all

Badly, 6 months on still waiting for call from a supervisor that has not come, regarding the gift card app not working, hours and hours on the phone, getting hung up on regularly if your put on “hold”. Features begin changed or deleted with out notice. Fluff being added that does nothing like charts and bar graphs, give me a spread sheet thank you.

They quoted me one thing clearly and then drew up a contract that said differently. Then they lied saying that they never quoted me that and that the manager reviewed the call and agreed with salesman. When I asked to review the call with them to clarify, I received no response. I would rather pay double than use a company that is underhanded and does not stand by what they quote.

I was approached by one of their sales representatives name John and his partner. I listened to their offer, and I specifically said I will read over their Terms and Conditions first BEFORE I sign on as a customer. He said no problem, and that just to sign the form to make sure I am entitled to the “rate” at a later time. About a week later, I receive an email from Clover stating that my P.O.S. terminal was arriving soon and my contract will commence on June 5th, 2024. I contacted Clover and First Data informing them that this was a mistake and that I did not sign any agreement. They in turn said I must contact the initial sales representative to rectify the situation. I contacted John, and he gave excuse after excuse. First, he was sick, then I’m not in the office. When he finally responded, he said there was a misunderstanding, and he will “look into it”. After a few days of NO RESPONSE, he decided to GHOST me. No replies to text and constant voice mails. If anyone doubts me, I have PROOF of correspondence or lack thereof, and I will gladly forward them for anyone to review. My advice, STAY AWAY FROM CLOVER. I will rather pay a higher rate and deal with an HONEST company than deal with CLOVER.

I did a two week trial run of Clover processing and their POS system. In 20 years of running my store this was the most painful and nightmare experience I’ve had with technology and credit card processing. First, the POS sucks! You have to buy a 3rd party service for pretty much any little thing you want to do with it. Then I tried processing for only 2 days and they held up my deposits for 2 weeks. Even though when I signed on it said a 2 day turnaround they decided I would need 2 weeks. To add insult to injury when I cancelled and verified I was completely done, no payments or issues remaining now months later they’re coming after me for a couple of hundred bucks they say I owe them. Only about 15 of that is what they say is owed the rest is collection fees. I’ve never received a single invoice or request for payment until now and almost all of it is collection fees. CLOVER, FISSERV, FIRST DATA ARE ALL A HUGE SCAM!!!! Do yourself a favor and stay very far away from all of them.

I have a good size medical practice and I have been using clover since 2014. I noticed charges in my bank account over $1500 every couple of weeks from clover(FDMS). Tried to call and people who responded had no idea what are the charges for and what any thing about the history of these transactions at all. I Tried to ask why I cannot do a rapid deposit anymore and the responses were hideous. Then a guy who can barely speak English came to the phone after hours of hold and said that I am in a real danger and that I was sent to collections. It sounded like a hidden camera joke. When I questioned the transactions from my bank that were taken in thousands. He had no answer or explanation or can’t even see it. They have no email for support so you no one can attach a proof or documents. I asked if they have been hacked, the chat lady Taliba said she is not aware if they have been hacked or not. I am switching to another merchant immediately. Something is majorly wrong.

Been with clover since 2017. Below industry standard pos, but workable because it was so inexpensive. We just got a 1000%+ price increase. We refuse to “agree” To new terms and have been requesting hardware buyback (18 units). Crickets.

THIS COMPANY OPERATES DECEITFULLY! Not only did they deceive me with false promises of energy price discounts, but they also coerced me into a contract for 3 new card machines. To cancel these unused devices, they demanded a staggering £3000. This is a blatant scam preying on unsuspecting individuals. STAY VIGILANT and steer clear of their dishonest dealings!

I was astounded by the deceptive practices of this company, an unexpected turn of events in the UK. It’s alarming to discover that fraudulent companies operate legally worldwide, including in England. Stay alert and informed to avoid falling victim to such schemes.

Clover treated me so badly. They cancelled my account with no notice. When I asked what I can do. They hung up on me numerous times. I have called over and over to find out why and the Risk rep named Carlos was extremely rude. Did not give me direct answers and keep transferring me from department to department. Each tell me to call the other and there is no resolution. I am so defeated. this has taken so much time and energy from me. I have never in my life been treated so badly by a company. Now I am stuck with this system I am trying to return with a lease and a POS system that I am unable to use.

We were a long-time client. Then when we decided to move on because of duplicate and unnecessary charges. I called to cancel, and they put me through to another person to see if I’ll stay. I was selling the business, and my other companies were already involved in a relationship with Clover POS (great company) They continue to bill me out for 5 months before I caught on (shame on me) They would NOT refund my money. Deceptive practicing. Beware!!

Our company recenty transitioned to Clover for our CC processing. We have since seem the system shut completely down and we are unable to process any CC’s for our clients and Clover is saying they are working on it, but it could take 88 hours, question Business hours or 88 hours in general because we are not able to process anything. They are like Fort Knox with pass codes but their service is horrible. If they don’t get you on the phone they just close your case and then argue with you about it. I have never in my life seen a Merchant Company behave so badly. Our goal is to get it back to operation, but then we are changing companies. I am very unhappy with their lack of service.

Clover systems has by far the worst customer service I’ve ever dealt with just opened my account using it one month none of my transactions have made it to my bank account and nobody seems to be able to fix the problem so I have had no income from my account for a month totally unacceptable

Clovers customer service could very well be the worst I have ever dealt with. This far outweighs any positives I may have about their systems. I am inches away from moving my entire business because of their lack of anything resembling service.

I have been a Clover merchant since 2016 and something I just discovered recently that a number of the merchants may not be aware of if they are in a complicated billing system like I am. There is a fee called a non compliance PCI Validation fee which apparently required a survey that was never sent out to us to fill out . There was never a notification email or certified letter indicating that we were Non Compliant AND IN VIOLATION OF SOMETHING ONLY A HIDDEN FEE THAT WENT FROM 14.99 – NOW 49.99 OVER THE YEARS . If I am Non compliant in any other part of my business I am cancelled . THIS COMPANY SETS UP A SURVEY THAT THEY DO NOT NOTIFY CUSTOMERS THAT THEY ARE IN VIOLATION SO THEY CAN COLLECT A LOT OF MONEY. IS THIS EVEN A LEGAL DOCUMENT AND HOW MANY MILLIONS OF DOLLARS DO THEY COLLECT FROM UNSUSPECTING MERCHANTS THAT ARE NOT NOTIFIED THEY ARE IN VIOLATION? IHAVE PAID THOUSNADS OF DOLLARS OVER THE YEARS IN THIS HIDDEN FEE WITHOUT EVER BEING TOLD OF THE VIOLATION THERE MUST BE OTHERS.

Clover support is a piece of garbadge, we had the machine since last 3 years, this time the payments were not deposited, we were told that Raza Suppervisor will call back in 24 hrs to 48 hrs, but its been almost 2 weeks, no one called, neither our payments were deposited or clear,

i called 8 times, & i was kept on hold for many hours, then i tried live chat, & was not replied,

they are suppose to call back & solve our issue, but no response, very disappointed, very pathetic services, will never recomend,

A manager at my store purchased a Clover pos and it included AppStar as cc processor. Earlier this year my business was closed and rented by another person – the Clover/Appstar was transferred in the new name. However Clover/First Data Merchant Services keeps billing monthly even though this entire account was transferred. We are no longer in business and this unethical billing needs to be made known

Clover is a company with no business integrity!!!

I purchased a clover system for 2 Drive Thru donut shops in April 2023 after being assured that the system was capable of doing everything that my current system is capable of. I discovered after purchasing them that they don’t have the capability to automatically calculate the sales taxes in Ontario Canada which was not revealed to me prior to my purchase and there was no way for me to discover prior to purchasing. This is a basic function that any POS system I’ve used in the last 15 years has been capable of. My business is a high volume transaction business doing a transaction every 20-30 seconds during peak business times and the process of identifying what sales are taxable and non taxable is a cumbersome task which would definitely reduce the speed of service and open my business to tax liabilities of uncharged or overcharged taxes.

I discovered this problem after they set up my POS devices which took almost 2 months to do after I purchased them. I received great service on the sale but once they delivered the product and had my money the service and communication became extremely poor. The sales associate would not return calls or respond to emails. I have spent over 10 hrs on the phone trying to get a refund for my hardware as well as the fees charged even though I have not been able to launch the system or performed a single transaction with the system.

They have been totally uncooperative and have stonewalled me in spite of having a legitimate complaint. I have had $382.14 deducted from my account in service fees to this date plus $8029.13 deducted for equipment related items and I’m stuck with a totally useless system. This system is not suitable for a fast food business where there are a lot of transactions under $4.00.

ZERO support on the credit card machines they sell. All support does is give you another number to call so that they can pass you to a dead line or hold music that disconnects you after about 30 minutes. Do not use Clover.

IM AN UPSET BUSINESS OWNER CONSUMER. Clover Merchant Services at 1855-853-8340 has stolen my deposits. They keep providing me on “RECORDED CALLS” that they are going to deposit my business funds into my account and “IT NEVER HAPPENS!” I feel like Clover Merchant Services is scamming me. Everyday when I call into Clover. I always get a different scenario or a set promise of receiving my $14,000.00. I have spoken with numerous staff at Clover and yet NO RESOLUTION. On Clover recorded calls I have spoken with Account Soecialist Stacy Ann, Ms. Unique the level 2 supervisor, Raashed Hill, Supervisor Nicky Hines & many more. And yet “NO RESOLUTION!” When I ask to speak to higher authorities, Clover claims that their in a meeting & cannot tend to the phone. When I ask for Regional Managers or even the number to Headquarters, They never can provide that information as well. This company needs a class action lawsuit with all the businesses under it. The customers service in Merchant department and Leasing department are unprofessional. None of agents in these department have update information on my account. The only department that has the correct information is the Collection Department.

On March 30,2023, I called to cancel my account. I was told to keep the account open for 60 days so the fee can come. On April 4, 2023, the cancellation fee was taken out.

On April 12th, 13th, 14th charges were taken out. Today I called the Merchant Department who passed me on the Leasing Department which I told both of them that the cancellation money was withdrawn from my account. Cari in the leasing department told me that i need to speak to Collection department. I asked Cari what was the amount which she said she will tell me and proceeded to tell me about speaking to someone in collection department. I told her the situation about the payment, and I asked what’s the address to return the equipment. I never received that information, but she assists that I had to pay more money. I asked for Employee ID number so if I had any problems I could have it for reference just in case someone else shared the same name. I asked her to transfer to collection department but give me balance before Cari stated that she could not give me the balance that I had to talk to collection department. I stated that she did not keep her word and I expected for her to honor that. Finally, she told me then proceed to transfer to collection call drop and no return to call complete this process. I called her department a couple of time did not get an answer only computer. I had to call merchant department to get connected to Collection Department. Immacula in that department was very professional. She said I 0 balance and I need to speak to someone in Leasing again. This is too much for any client or customer to go through. This is company is a professional in collecting their fees but unprofessional when handling the needs of customers. I need feedback on this will handle and for the fees to stop coming out of out and the need to be refunded asap. No one never send me the requested documentation on closing of this account. No cancellation contract for me to sign, but those fees are coming out after the closing.
