TransTech Merchant Group is a merchant account provider that acts as a DBA of Certified Payment Processing and Summit Merchant Solutions and a subsidiary of First American Payment Systems. Like Summit Merchant Solutions, TransTech Merchant Group is an older business within the Certified Payment Processing family and therefore may be gradually phased out as an active brand to make room for newer alleged First American Payment Systems subsidiaries like Intrepid Payment Processing and Axis Payments. Despite this possibility, there have been a handful of merchant reviews of TransTech posted in the past year, indicating that the brand is still active.

TransTech Merchant Group has received over 100 negative reviews on consumer protection forums. The issues cited by merchants are the same issues that have been connected to First American Payment Systems and Certified Payment Processing, namely nondisclosure of contract terms, misrepresentation of rates and fees, poor customer service, expensive cancellation penalties, and long-term leasing agreements. Former sales agents also describe low-quality leads, poor training, and high turnover. In general, TransTech’s reputation doesn’t differ in any meaningful way from those of Certified Payment Processing or Summit Merchant Solutions.
